Project DescriptionThe Australian Government is providing $8.045 million over 2008-09 and 2009-10 under Round One of the program for the planning, design and construction activities for high priority roadside rest areas and rest area improvements that will result in new rest areas, rest area upgrades and 'Blue Reflector', informal parking area upgrades on the Newell, Sturt, Great Western, F5 and Hume Highways in NSW. The funding will also provide for a new rest area at Hermidale the Barrier Highway and for preconstruction activities relating to the upgrade of five bridges to Higher Mass Limit standards on roads in NSW.
