Project DescriptionThe project upgraded 2.5 km from the northern end of Barney's Point bridge to the southern end of the Tweed Heads bypass.
BenefitsThe upgraded project will improve road safety, reduce travel times, reduce freight transport costs and improve economic efficiency. FundingThe Australian Government has previously provided $2 million for the planning activities for the project and has committed a further $347 million in the Nation Building Program to 2013-14, bringing the total Australian Government commitment to $349 million. TimetableThe project was completed on 23 September 2012.
