Project Description

The Australian Government is providing $9.7595 million over 2010-11 and 2010-12 under Round Two of the program for fifteen projects. Fourteen projects are for new or upgraded rest areas: one on the F5 (Hume Highway); four on the Mitchell Highway; two on the Newell Highway; and three on the New England Highway; and four rest area projects on the Princes Highway. The program also includes the upgrade of Hunter River Bridge on the Golden Highway.

Benefits

The projects will improve safety and capacity on the National and Non-National Network in NSW.

Funding

The Australian Government is providing $9.7595 million to this program of works, in partnership with the NSW Government.

Timetable

 Work commenced in July 2010 and the program is expected to be completed mid 2012.
