The Australian Government has committed a total of $68 million towards the $85 million project in partnership with the Queensland Government, with $40 million committed from the Regional Infrastructure Fund and $28 million from the Nation Building, Bruce Highway Black spots program.
Construction commenced in April 2012 and is scheduled for completion late 2013.
