Project DescriptionThe Yeppen Lagoon Bridge and Roundabout project involves duplication of the roundabout at the intersection of the Bruce Highway and the Capricorn Highway and the construction of a new 2 lane bridge crossing the Yeppen Lagoon, south of Rockhampton. BenefitsThe project will reduce congestion and travel times around Rockhampton, and between the Stanwell Industrial Corridor, the Port of Gladstone and the mining areas of Emerald. FundingThe Australian Government has committed a total of $68 million towards the $85 million project in partnership with the Queensland Government, with $40 million committed from the Regional Infrastructure Fund and $28 million from the Nation Building, Bruce Highway Black spots program. TimetableConstruction commenced in April 2012 and is scheduled for completion late 2013. |
