How to Nominate a Black Spot

Nominations for Black Spot locations are invited from Sate and Territory Government, local councils, community groups and associations, road user groups, industry and individuals. All nominations should be made on the official Black Spot Nomination Form. [PDFPDF: 173 KB] All completed nomination forms must be mailed to the relevant state or territory authority, see table below. Sites which fail to meet eligibility criteria with regard to crash history, or are not supported by a road safety audit, cannot be considered.

On receipt of a completed Black Spot Nomination Form the relevant state/territory transport agency will examine the nominated site's eligibility, and may undertake an economic assessment of a treatment proposal. All nominations will be referred for consideration by the appropriate Consultative Panel.
